I never did get to the bottom of the problem, but I suspected that a font was being used in the test page that was not installed on my system. I’ve never tried Libreoffice, but gLabels works well. Maybe windows is doing something to the printer’s LAN address.

Have you tried printing something other than the CUPS test page?
Changed in ptouch-driver Ubuntu: I finally got it to print on my Ubuntu system. I have try also with glabels and the driver was working well with the previous version on trusty: Open Source Consulting Domain Registration. I have set up Custom Media Size as 59 x 32 mm yielding 62 x 38 mm qll-580n size effectively in CUPS to account for the hardware margins 1. So, does anyone have any suggestions where to go from here?

The weird thing is I can print all brothher them if the first print job comes from Ptouch Editor Windows. Adam Albright 3, 1 13 9. Note that most of the Ptouch labels are longer Y axis than they are wide X axisbut the dimensions on the label box are the other way around. Is it possible to connect more than one machine to my PC?
I’ve asked Brother for the english version and they sent me the manual for QL, which they told me, work the same way. Maybe this helps though. I have installed both lpr and cupswrapper drivers, but I can not print.
